Caravan servicing and sales facility


Our client came to us via recommendation requiring a “new building!”. The initial consultation ascertained our client’s brief outline requirements. We obtained an OS plan of the site and plotted the outline of a scheme that we felt was appropriate to their needs. Once a basic principle of the design was agreed, a fee proposal was offered to our client for procurement of planning permission.

After establishing the end use as a servicing facility and offices for the whole of the operation we worked with our client to develop a more specific scope of works based on their exact requirements and detailed drawings were provided for further discussion.

Construction and build figures therein were agreed. The procurement of Building Regulation approval, SBEM calculations, energy efficient design, drainage and flood alleviation requirements along with the procurement of services and service diversions as necessary were all incorporated within the turnkey package without the need for costly external consultants, all covered by our PI cover at £5,000,000.00.

We returned to site eight months later as a result of the increased demand for Caravans in the UK. The final piece of the puzzle was to undertake the installation of;

- A new mezzanine floor level to accommodate an awnings-only showroom, the only one of it’s kind in the UK
- An extension to the car park in order to provide additional parking for their increased footfall

The facility is now fully complete, and our client is extremely pleased with the result. From their original brief requesting “a new building”, we have worked with them every step of the way to construct a truly unique facility that allows them to trade as one of the premier Caravan retailers in the UK.
