Following on from the demolition works, preparatory piling and reinforced concrete foundations at our site at 8 St. Paul’s St in Leeds on behalf of W Denis Insurance Brokers PLC, our team at MLC YORK began the erection of steelwork to form the 1500sqft per floor extension to 7 storeys of the existing building.
The fitting of bespoke Westok beams to facilitate the unrestricted passage of ducting and cabling, and the fixing of steel multideck to create a permanent shutter for the proposed concrete floor, dramatically improved this phase of the construction process over the more traditional route of a reinforced concrete frame.
As you can see from the time-lapse – actions speak louder than words. The new steel frame was complete on site within fourteen working days.
A huge thanks to our long-time partners Nationwide Structures for their invaluable efforts in the design and installation of the structural steel frame, and Robert Thomson and his team at Dudleys Consulting Engineers Engineering for their design input and continued assistance on the project. As always, thanks to Alison Jackson MRICS PGCAP FHEA Jackson and her team at Carter Towler for their continued support.
