Retford Priory

Retford is one of the oldest boroughs in the country, so constructing a purpose-built enterprise at the rear of an existing Grade 2 Listed property was one that MLC York handled with great sensitivity. The new single-story extension of 12 bedrooms, activity space, clinical + consulting rooms including offices and associated break out areas stands on the site of an existing building. Our team carefully excavated the original structure prior to the construction of the new facilities and after laying concrete foundations, followed traditional techniques on brick + blockwork and traditional roofing.

Client specifications of conservation sympathetic breathable lime concrete floor slabs throughout add modern elements to old. Utilities - electric, water, foul and surface water drainage services connected to existing services.

Sensitive external landscaping enhanced the whole development.
